Façade Restoration Work

The Dean is pleased to announce the commencement of façade restoration work on the east-facing lower tower of the Cathedral of the Incarnation. This exciting project marks the first phase of both our Forecourt Accessibility project and what we anticipate will be a multi-year restoration initiative for the entire cathedral façade.

The restoration work will include:

  • Complete low-pressure power washing of the original Bellville Brownstone

  • Dutchman replacement of any deteriorated stones

  • Recasting of broken or missing finials

  • Artisan staining and finishing of the new elevator tower brownstone to match the existing cathedral coloring and stone patterns

We are committed to preserving the beauty and integrity of our beloved cathedral while ensuring it remains accessible to all members of our community. We expect disruption to regular schedules in the building to be minimal during this first phase of restoration work.

We will keep you informed of our progress through e-news updates and social media channels. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we undertake this important work to maintain and enhance the cathedral building for generations to come.
