The Cathedral had the joy of hosting the P.E.A.C.E. Afterschool Program's Summer Day Camp on the Close for their end of summer Camp Day. On a day that started with clouds and rain, we were blessed to have the skies clear, the sun come out and a gentle breeze keep us comfortable.
The kids were treated to a tour of the Cathedral with the Dean as their docent. They tiedyed tee shirts to create their own wearable art, guided by our volunteers. They enjoyed lunch served by our volunteers. DJ Pastor Tillman kept the energy high with music, and led the kids in yoga.
Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly surprised the kids with a visit during which she encouraged the kids to make the most of the coming school year.
The kids were gifted backpacks filled with school supplies, thanks to our generous Cathedral Congregation. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such an enjoyable success!
