The Incarnation means God showed up — and so do we.
Pastoral Care at the Cathedral of the Incarnation
The Cathedral of the Incarnation is committed to walking alongside people in every season of life — in joy and in grief, in health and in illness, in abundance and in need. Our clergy and pastoral care team are here for you.
Sacramental Care
The sacraments of the Church mark the most significant moments of our lives. The cathedral offers baptisms, weddings, confirmations, and funerals, as well as private confession for those who seek it. If you would like to speak with a member of the clergy about any of these, we invite you to reach out before or after any service, or contact the cathedral office directly.
Care for the Congregation
Our Canon Pastor and clergy team are available to members of the cathedral community navigating illness, loss, crisis, or life transitions. Whether you need a pastoral conversation, a visit, or simply someone to pray with you, we are here. To request pastoral care, please contact the cathedral office at (516) 746-2955 or email cathedral@incarnationgc.org.
Neighbors Being Neighbors
Our pastoral care extends well beyond the cathedral close. Led by the Rev. Denise Galloway, Deacon and Director of Outreach, our Neighbors Being Neighbors ministry brings the love of Christ directly to our neighbors on Jackson Street in Hempstead — through regular meal service, holiday celebrations, street-based prayer, and consistent, caring presence throughout the week. This ministry is a living expression of our belief that pastoral care happens wherever people are.
Ministry at the Nassau County Correctional Center
The cathedral maintains an active and growing ministry at the Nassau County Correctional Center, offering visitation, prayer, worship services, and meditation programs for incarcerated individuals. This ministry has expanded to include the facility's Women's Unit. For more information, contact the Rev. Denise Galloway at dgalloway@incarnationgc.org.
Campus Ministry at Adelphi University
Cathedral clergy serve as chaplains at neighboring Adelphi University, offering pastoral care, spiritual guidance, counseling, crisis support, and worship opportunities to students, faculty, and staff. Through the Center for Spiritual Imagination's Meditation and Justice program, the cathedral also cultivates spaces for contemplative practice and meaningful dialogue across the campus community.
Contemplative and Spiritual Care
Canon Adam Bucko, Director of the Center for Spiritual Imagination and Abbot of the Community of the Incarnation, supports the deeper spiritual life of our community through shared prayer, contemplative practice, and formation. The Center offers programs and resources for those seeking to grow in the life of the spirit — rooting us as, in Canon Adam's words, a reconciling force for good in the world.
Pet Ministry
We know that our animals are members of our families, and that caring for them — and for those who love them — is a genuine pastoral ministry. Cathedral for Pets offers prayer services and pastoral care for animals and their caregivers. Dogs are also welcome at our outdoor Neighborhood Mass, held Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and every day in our Cathedral for Pets Dog Park on the southwest corner of the Cathedral Close where a loving community of friends and neighbors have created a fun, safe, supportive, and caring space for our dogs and their moms and dads!
