Juneteenth Jubilee

Saturday, June 21

Scholars selected for the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island’s Barbara C. Harris Scholars Program will be presented with their scholarships by the Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano, Bishop of Long Island, during this special celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. All scholars are the descendants of enslaved people who have exhibited exceptional academic excellence and dedicated themselves to creating a more just world.

Our guest preacher will be The Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones, priest for pastoral care and community at Trinity Wall Street, and a regular retreat facilitator and spiritual director. Born and educated in Kingston, Jamaica, he attended St. George's College and the University of the West Indies, and completed graduate studies at institutions including Loyola University Chicago and the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley.

Reception to follow under the Cathedral tent.
