Dear Cathedral Community,
Following the latest recommendations from the CDC and a directive from our bishop’s office, services in the cathedral are currently mask-optional until otherwise announced. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask, you are encouraged to do so although they are no longer required.
Masks will also be optional for coffee hour in the refectory at the Mercer School of Theology and in the library for the Dean’s Forum.
Masks will continue to be required in our Fellowship-in-Faith classrooms. Students and teachers will wear masks during instruction until otherwise announced. We are following recommendations closely and will keep everyone informed of any further changes in cathedral policies.
I want to commend the whole cathedral community for the attentiveness to mutual care which has been so evident over this pandemic period. We are all hopeful that the worst is behind us and we can feel very good that our faith community cared for the most vulnerable among us consistently and without complaint throughout these many months.
This cathedral community continues to set a positive example for all in putting care of neighbor, friend and stranger front and center in all we do. Thank you for your commitment to one another as we seek to serve Christ in all persons.
