Senior Choristers

At the heart of our choir program are the Cathedral Choristers, comprised of boy and girl trebles. Choristers who grow up singing in a program such as ours develop the ability to sing the finest choral music with confidence, skill, and good vocal technique. Our chorister program is made up of two groups of young singers, the Junior Choristers and the Senior Choristers.

The Senior Choristers are a group of singers in fifth grade and above. They rehearse twice per week, on Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 8pm and Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00pm. They sing weekly at the 11:15 Mass as part of the Cathedral Chamber Choir, as well as for all Evensongs and special occasions. The training the Senior Choristers receive as part of rehearsal gives them the ability to sing difficult music of all eras confidently. Many of our choristers participate in NYSSMA festivals, and we are always proud to have a number of choristers represented in All-County Ensembles, as well as All-State and All-Eastern Choirs.

Do you know a young person who loves to sing and could value a free musical education? Contact our Music Director Larry Tremsky at to learn more about the process of joining the Choristers.
