Eagle Scout Project at the Bishop Walker Guesthouse

Over the years, the Cathedral has been fortunate enough to have several young people choose us as the location for their Eagle Scout Projects. The latest project, by Jackson Philips of Troop 55, is a peaceful meditation and reflection spot on the grounds of the Bishop Walker Guesthouse at 59 Third Street in Garden City.

Jackson’s design includes a pergola, benches and a stone circle representing duality and balance, commonly known as Yin Yang. He and his assisting scouts worked through the rain over two weekends to complete this project. The Guesthouse, in addition to supplying lodging for visiting clergy, is also frequently used for retreats. It is certain that this space will be enjoyed by guests and retreat attendees for many years. Please stop by and take a look at this lovely addition to the Guesthouse, and feel free to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the space.
