Lawrence Tremsky

Lawrence Tremsky became the Organist and Master of the Choirs at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City in July of 2000.

In this position he is responsible for the entire music program of this large, historic Cathedral, which includes choirs of boys, girls, men and women. The Cathedral also sponsors an active concert series.

A native of Ohio, Mr. Tremsky received a B.M. degree in organ performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1979. He later attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, from which he received a M.M. degree in 1983. His organ teachers have included Wayne Fisher and Grigg Fountain.

Before coming to Garden City, Mr. Tremsky held the position as director of Music at Grace Episcopal Church in Utica, NY, a position he held for eight years. Before that he served for ten years as Associate Organist/Choirmaster at the Cathedral of the Holy Name in Chicago, as the assistant to Richard Proulx. He has been the accompanist for several choral CD recordings, and produced a recording titled A Year of Grace with the Grace Church Choir in 1996.
