George joined the Cathedral staff as sexton on November 15, 1998. His involvement in church work goes back many years. In his native country of Belize, Central America, he was responsible for transporting the clergy to their various outposts at rural missions.

After migrating to the United States, he joined the staff of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, Queens Village as sexton and served in that capacity for eight years prior to becoming a member of the Cathedral staff.

George describes himself as a conscientious worker who takes pride in his work. He lives by the old adage 'cleanliness is next to godliness'.

The cathedral has become more than just a place of employment, it has become his spiritual home as well.

George is married to Ellen Sutherland.
